Register your food facility with the FDA and have an FDA representative for your facility, it is the law.
U.S. FDA Regulations: U.S. FDA Food Facility Registration: 21 C.F.R. sections 1.225 – 1.243
FDA requires all Food Facilities to be registered with the FDA. Including foreign facilities. Any facility that handles, store or cooled food fresh products must be registered with the FDA.
As part of the FSMA the facility must also assign a point person for any communication with FDA. This person performs as a filter between the facility and the FDA and handles all communication with FDA related to the facility, this is important since FDA requires a response within 24hrs. whenever they enquired about anything regarding your facility.
